Concrete Extruder Superintendent

POSITION**:Concrete Extruder Superintendent**

DEPARTMENT: Concrete Division

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Supervise workers and projects; Coordinate and schedule activities.

**Workers Supervised**
- Concrete Foreman, Concrete Apprentices; Concrete Trades helpers; Concrete Laborers

**Supervise and ensure the following duties are being performed**:

- Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement material
- Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces
- Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured concrete
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
- Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
- Strip concrete forms
- Cut control joints
- Verifying string line and grade prior to pouring
- Ensuring proper molds being used
- Coordinate machine moves for trimming and pouring with dispatch
- Perform quality control of extruder pours

**Working Conditions**:

- Long Hours (12-16 hour days)
- Days, evenings, and weekends
- Dusty
- Weather Conditions vary: Hot, Cold, Windy, Rain.
- Walk and stand for long periods

- Review, understand and follow all Safety Policies and Procedures

- Participate in hazard assessments, job site inspections, equipment maintenance inspections, near-miss or accident-incident reports
- Inform the Safety Manager of all incidents, accidents, near-misses and safety infractions
- Participate in toolbox talks
- Implement safety into all tasks related to your scope of work
- Ensure proper use of PPE

**Documentation**:
It is the goal of North West Paving to retain employees and follow labour relation standards. Proper documentation is required to protect the company as well as the employees from possible issues that could arise. The following documentation will be implemented and must be completed for proper investigation, and to improve productivity and performance. You will be responsible to review, incorporate and sign the following when provided to you by your supervisor:

- Employee Reprimand Documentation
- Employee Performance Evaluation
- Employee Termination Form; each section must be completed; in the case of termination, a reason must be provided, and all supporting documentation must be attached e.g. Previous Infraction/Reprimand documentation

**Salary**: From $110,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- concrete: 3 years (preferred)
- concrete superintendent: 2 years (preferred)
