The role of the civilian clerk is to take the burden of data entry away from frontline officers. This allows officers to spend more time on frontline services.

**Skills required for the Civilian Data Entry (CDE) position**:

- Ability to listen to and transcribe dictated reports
- Analytical skills to identify conflicting information within reports and statistical data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including English composition, spelling and grammar
- Typing and keyboarding skills (minimum 40 wpm)
- Listening skills
- Prioritization and multi-tasking skills
- Stress management skills

**The Hiring Process**
- Pass the CritiCall test - a computerized multi-tasking exercise
- Pre-background questionnaire & local focused interview
- Psychological assessment and background investigation
- Final review
- Eligible for hire

**The Civilian Data Entry Unit operates 24 hours a day. CDE clerks must be available to work alternating shift schedules, including weekends and statutory holidays.**

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: From $27.72 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Holidays
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

- Orillia, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
