Meat Cutter/butcher

Primarily responsible for food service meat cutting. Will use meat saw and other processing equipment.
Assists in unloading food supplies and moving the supplies to appropriate holding locations, such as refrigerators, freezers, or other storage areas.
- Unpacks by hand or by machine various foods from boxes, cartons, or other containers.
- Performs a variety of hand and machine-assisted operations in washing, mixing, measuring, weighing, slicing, or otherwise preparing foods for cooking, freezing, or packaging.
- Assists in cooking by adding specified quantities of ingredients, putting in and removing products from smokehouses and ovens, and delivering them to assembly and packaging areas.
- Participates in the packaging and assembly of food items by loading, adjusting, and operating production machines and by hand placing or packing food items as necessary to complete the packaging process.
- Cleans up spills and makes minor adjustments to food processing/packaging equipment.
- Disassembles, assembles, cleans, and sanitizes a variety of automated and manual equipment; cleans and sanitizes work areas; and assists in general facility cleaning.
- May operate a forklift or a supply transporter.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Operate a variety of equipment including vacuum stuffer
- Complete yield sheets and recipes, record weights, lot codes and sign off/date the records
- Assist in plant inventory
- Weigh and measure raw materials for recipes and/or production
- Trim/cut raw meat products into roasts, steaks, etc.
- Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse manually, or with power equipment
- Check products and packaging for basic quality defects
- Assist other areas and departments in performing their duties
- Keep work areas clean and tidy, tidy areas before going on breaks
- Complete production records
