WS Steel is a Tier 1 OEM fabricator with a compliment of ~200 employees. We manufacture both high volume components and large-scale products/projects across a wide range of industries. We are seeking a full-time shipping & receiving supervisor for the dayshift.

**Position Overview**

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor role is to oversee all activities within the manufacturing shipping and receiving department, while motivating, mentoring, and creating a positive work environment for all team members.

Some of the main duties include:

- Leading a team emphasizing teamwork, safety, training, and discipline as needed.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities, to ensure accuracy completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Operating a forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load unload, transport, and store goods and materials.
- Working with others to develop standardized work procedures by designing and/ or documenting the best work sequence for each process.
- Utilizing lean manufacturing techniques to standardize process/methods, identify waste, methodically eliminate waste, and standardize new process/methods.
- Delegating appropriate authority and responsibilities to team members.
- Developing relationships centered on trust, respect, teamwork and leading by example.
- Serving other departments and their production needs.
- Continually working on self-improvement.
- Adhering to company policies to lead team members by example.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Working Conditions**:

- Working hours would be a dayshift from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime as required

**Job Requirements**
- 3-5 years of related work experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
- Basic mathematical skills
- Forklift operating experience / certifications
- Have a positive attitude and be willing to work in a team environment
- Willing to be flexible and learn other operations and duties
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Significant standing, walking, bending
- Effective verbal communication skills
