Health & Safety Coordinator

**As part of your role, responsibilities will include**:

- Lead our Joint Health & Safety committee supporting certified Health and Safety representatives and office representatives
- Create, maintain, and modify safe work practices, safe job procedures, and job hazard assessments and provide training and guidance to employees on these safe work practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of PPE
- Organize and assist with safety meetings, safety talks, and monitoring compliance through on-site audits
- Advise and assist project managers and senior staff in the formulation, implementation and management of health and safety management system and project safety plans
- Maintain and analyze health and safety records, including training, hazards/incidents, audit assessments, non-conformances and corrective actions to identify trends, and prepare reports supporting Health & Safety
- Tracking progress towards meeting Health & Safety objectives and targets
- Investigate workplace incidents, prepare detailed investigation reports, and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with the reporting of claims and return to work program
- Collaborate with external agencies, including regulatory bodies and insurance providers, to address safety concerns and ensure compliance
- Stay up to date with Ontario Health & Safety regulations, codes, practices, and standards
- Promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment
- Diploma/degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of related work experience, with preference given to individuals with Health & Safety experience in the consulting industry
- Experience and knowledgeable working under Ontario H&S Legislation, codes, practices, standards
- Experience working with the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) Health & Safety Excellence Program (HSEP)
- Experience in COR certification process and/or management of the certification
- Possess or currently working towards a CRSP certification is preferred
- A valid G license and access to a vehicle to travel to and from sites (mileage to sites compensated), including valid and appropriate vehicle insurance
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously, taking ownership of delegated tasks
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills (record keeping, time management)
