Samsung Research in Vancouver has taken a leadership role in big data. The data team in Vancouver handles massive amounts of data generated by Samsung’s Cloud Services and mobile devices. The team is responsible for turning this data into actionable insights that allows our stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and create values to our business, customers and partners.

We are looking for a Data Analyst who is passionate about big data technology and delivering data insight to help the business meet the distinct needs of different customer cohorts. Role and Responsibilities
- Analyze data in order to understand performance and behavior of the Samsung cloud services and operations
- Help us innovate and develop new product insights by collaborating with the teams across Samsung to improve the customers satisfaction across the world
- Work on complex issues where analyzing customer situation or business data requires an in-depth evaluation of variables
- Exercise judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results
- Develop data dashboards, ETL and data sources for the related business insights

Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent professional field
- 2+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis
- Strong knowledge of Tableau and SQL
- Working experience of Tableau data source and dashboard creation
- Experience with various AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis Firehose, Redshift etc.)
- Strong communication and team working skills, experience with senior leadership presentation.

Bonus Skills
- Experience with Mobile industry and/or experience with Business-to-Business (B2B) cloud solutions
- DevOps experiences: such as create build & install scripts, terraform, UNIX-based systems management, release management, production monitoring, etc.
- AWS certification and knowledge of Azure, Google Cloud, Google Analytics
