We are looking for a QC **(Quality Control Technician)** to join our team in **FreshPoint FreshCuts.**

Reporting to the FSQA Manager, the QC **Technician** is responsible for monitoring critical control points in the food production process and ensure employees comply with GMP and Food Safety policies. This is an entry-level QC role in a food processing environment that is required to work on the production floor where the temperatures are between 0-5 degrees Celsius.

**Responsibilities**:

- Enforce the QA program through communication with production personnel.
- Problem solving & trouble shooting of product quality issues.
- Conduct inspections of raw & finished product - product assessments upon receiving and shipping.
- Collect product samples for microbiological testing, retention and Cut specification checks.
- Inspects in-bound produce as they arrive and requests credit from Vendors for any product that does not meet standards.
- Assist in checking and filing paperwork on all loads arriving with refer-unit alarms or temperature issues that receivers identify during the receiving process.
- Monitoring production staff and surroundings for GMP & HACCP compliance
- Data entry, record keeping & completion of QA forms.
- Conducting the start-up of all wash line systems
- Assist in investigating product quality, foreign matters, and food borne illness complaints.
- Conduct cut specifications and prepare KPI reports for specialized customers
- Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising FreshPoint’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
- Any other food safety & quality control related job assigned by Food Safety Program Manager
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Is willing to work safely with mínimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Job Requirements**:

- Minimum 1-year experience working in a produce related environment with the ability to identify produce quality issues or in a food manufacturing environment
- Science/ Food Science/ Technology diploma, or degree, is required
- Knowledge & experience with HACCP, SOP’s, SSOP’s, and GMP’s
- Must be well organized and demonstrate effective time management skills.
- Experience or knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
- Valid driver’s license may be required for sample delivery in company vehicle
- Will be regularly required to lift up to 30lbs and infrequently up to 50lbs, material handling equipment available for use.
- Can withstand cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
- Will need to be able to stand and walk for extended periods during the day.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

**Location**:

- 3500 Viking Way, Richmond, BC V6V 1N6. Accessible to multiple transit lines.

**Schedule**:

- Full-time availability required with 4 week day shifts and 1 Saturday shift.
- Shift rotation every couple of weeks required. Start times vary from 7:00am to 10:30 am
- Statutory holiday shifts required and overtime hours available.
