**Position Description**:
We’re looking for a Jr. Continuous Improvement specialist to support Apex growth, this position will support all our processes to excel their daily goals through new initiatives and best practices to do our current standard work.

**Duties include**:

- Lead continuous improvement projects, cost efficiencies and process improvements utilizing Lean Tools and Methodologies in all areas of the business
- Use a hands-on approach to deploy sustainable systems and projects in our manufacturing facilities in Langley and Surrey, as part of a dedicated Continuous Improvement team
- Support CI manager through implementation of Kaizen events and value chain revisions
- Contribute expertise to continuous improvement projects
- Help achieve maximum operational efficiency
- Support and implement customer-focused processes in accordance with lean principles and practices.
- Don’t be afraid of thinking unconventionally
- Research best practices and make recommendations for implementation
- Work as a team and empower the work as a team philosophy.
- Execute to the highest expectations
- Analyze data and processes to quantify gaps/opportunities to make appropriate recommendations to drive process improvement
- Lead and facilitate training in Lean Manufacturing principals training in our organization
- Overseen process compliance as part of Plan-Do-Check-Act in a daily basis to suggest potential improvements
- Identify new opportunities and provide recommendations to make Apex even better every day
- Develop and implement tactics to reduce production downtime in diverse departments
- Support manufacturing issue resolution through problem solving methodologies

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Solid experience in a manufacturing operation.
- Strong work experience collecting and interpreting data
- Great capability to assess the Effectiveness of a process and offer recommendations for improvements.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills with mínimal supervision
- Strong written, verbal communications in English
- Good computer skills including MS Office - with above average Excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and keep organized
- Able to take direction and follow through completion
- Effective presentation and teaching skills and the ability to persuade staff to embrace change

**Qualifications**:

- University and/or technical college in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Business with the following experience:

- Minimum 1 - 2 years working in manufacturing field
- Continuous Improvement: 3 years (preferred)
- Six sigma training (Yellow belt, Green belt certification is and asset)
- Kaizen training and experience in leading projects
- 5’S understanding and proficiency in the implementation of the methodology
