Reporting to the Director, Finance collaborating with the Finance and Operational Teams will provide you the opportunity to be an integral part of our business and the support to be an effective leader.
**About the Job - **Primary Objectives**

You will have plenty of opportunities to collaborate with, and provide business decision support. In addition, the position is responsible to:

- Facilitate financial support of strategic projects
- Working collaboratively with the CFO, Director, Finance and Controller to implement digitization initiatives expanding the capacity and capabilities of the company, its divisions and the Finance Team
- Strengthen the financial well-being of the Company by documenting systems that capture and build upon knowledge and follow good governance practices
- Support risk mitigation strategies with the CFO and Commercial Contracts Manager

**Strategy**
- Share analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance of the company

Accounting and Reporting*
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly and provide associated reporting and insights
- Assist with the tracking and reporting of the Company’s employee stock option plan.
- Assist with preparation of internal management accounting reports, external financial statements and reports as well as financial and other information for income tax reporting purposes.

Other Assignments
- Coach and develop Operational Teams to build ERP and system and financial knowledge and capabilities
- Automate financing partners requests for information and reporting
- Implement system internal controls recommendations, ASPE compliance and applicable federal, provincial and local regulatory laws and rules
- Contribute to the periodic and year end audits with the Finance Team and auditors.
- Validate timecard data capture to support SR&ED claims

Key Requirements*
- 5+ years experience in public accounting or high technology or manufacturing industry
- BA in Accounting or Finance, CGA, CMA or CPA designation an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- High level of proficiency with software including ERP systems, Google Suite and Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Self motivated, highly organized and ability to work independently
- Attention to detail but can see the big picture
