Inventory Coordinator

Key job functions include: - Controlling and ensuring accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and day to day operations. - Receive orders, accurately label items and store them for use in production. - Complete freight claims when necessary - Track damaged material, aged inventory, and quarantine material. - Investigate and solve problems with inventory discrepancies and incorrect deliveries. - Create Purchase Orders. - Communicate with vendors on delivery dates, accuracy of shipping quantities and backorders. - Weekly and Monthly counts and variance reports. - Report stale material and "Work in Progress" Inventory to Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Coordinator. - Maintain knowledge of trends, prices, and deliver conditions to anticipate future material availability using historical graphs. - Negotiate contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times. - Work with Inventory Planning to ensure sufficient stock levels to meet demand. - Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price or conditions of sale. - Fiscal responsibility in ordering and negotiating contracts and pricing with vendors. Applicants should posses the following qualities: - Strong attention to detail - Strong organizational skills - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Strong written and oral communication - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Good working knowledge of shipping and receiving - Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively prioritize and work efficiently in a high demanding fast paced worked environment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Previous experience in an inventory position considered an asset, but not required. - Forklift certification considered an asset.
