**Mathnasium of Newmarket **is now hiring

At Mathnasium, we specialize in just one thing, teaching math in a way that makes sense to kids. The learning centre is a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment for kids at all skills levels from SK to Grade 12.

We train our instructors how to implement the Mathnasium Method®, being able to teach math in a way that makes sense to the student. Instructors will be able to teach WHY the math works as opposed to rote memorization.

As part of the Mathnasium team, you can expect to earn a steady income working in a fun, collaborative environment at our learning centre in Newmarket (_no travel is required to student’s house_).

We offer flexible working hours: Monday - Thursday 3:30 - 7:30 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Expect 8 to 20 hours per week.

**Instructor’s Responsibilities**:

- Teach math to students via the Mathnasium methodology, using prescribed teaching practices (paid training will be provided).
- Work as part of a team and operate in a Team Teaching environment where collaboration and communication ensure all student needs are being addressed.
- Actively encourage, motivate, and engage with students during their instructional session. Building students’ confidence and self-esteem.
- Evaluate and document students’ progress.
- Correct students work and provide positive and constructive feedback.
- Assist in non-learning tasks as required.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Exceptional Math skills (an in-house Assessment will be taken).
- Teaching or tutoring - min of 1 year experience
- Previous experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, etc).
- Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to professionally interact with students and parents.
- Energetic, Caring and Confident personality.
- Enjoys working in a team.
- Ability to understand and act on provided guidelines.
- Reliable and overall professional.
- Secondary School Completion

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Ability to teach students in upper level high-school math courses (Grades 9-12).
- Should be able to motivate students to learn and to work on new concepts while maintaining a positive environment.
- University graduate or university student from a program with strong emphasis on Math. Educators, Pre and Post OCT are most welcome to join the team.
