**Availability**: Part-time, 3-8pm Weekdays, or 9am-2pm Weekends (flexible scheduling)

**Job Summary**:
Tutors at Oak Learners are experienced teachers who are passionate about providing personalized learning opportunities and building confidence in students of all ages.
Tutors design and deliver weekly or bi-weekly sessions in a 1:1 tutoring format. Tutors are part-time employees at Oak Learners and work collaboratively with other members of the educational team.

**Main Duties**:

- Create, research and obtain curriculum and teaching tools that suit the needs of each individual student
- Maintain records on each student who is being tutored, as well as prepare and submit evaluations and other reports as requested
- Maintain regular communication with parents about their child’s progress, including maintaining the “Reflection Book” and providing in-person feedback
- Support students in building confidence and self-efficacy with academics

**Required Experience**:

- Must have a Bachelor of Education and be a member of the Ontario College of Teachers
- 2-3 years of teaching experience preferred (classroom teaching or tutoring)
- Strong academic skills and an ability to adapt lessons to the needs of all learners.
- Knowledge of the Ontario school curriculum and the expected outcomes for students at various grade levels.
- Up-to-date knowledge about learning theories, techniques and resources.
