**PURPOSE**

Reporting to the **Departmental Manager the Supervisor** is responsible for the day to day operation of their line(s). This includes shipping line supervision, safety awareness, and ensuring appropriate levels of staffing, quality, performance, output and implementing improvements to existing shipping processes.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Complete daily time management into Dayforce system for all of your direct reports
- Communicate clear expectation with shipping team in Tier-1 meeting.
- Always available to help your team on their needs.
- Organize Line haul shipping by shipping destinations.
- Train and coach team on staging and shipping processes.
- Ensure that all products scanned to the cart and their locations.
- Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and all line operations are run safely
- Make changes and recommendations to existing safety procedures
- Ensure all Audited QC documentation completed and filed for reference
- Ensure all performance reviews are completed in a timely fashion
- Deal with employee issues related to performance and attendance
- Assist in the recruitment and training of staff as needed
- Complete accident investigations and WCB reports in a timely manner
- To participate in the hiring of employees to meet staffing needs
- To discipline employees reporting to them, up to and including termination
- To approve time away from work (vacation, bereavement, appointments)
- To determine disposition of a non-conforming product (rework, scrap, etc.)
- To re-inspect and determine that any reworked product is ready to ship.
- To reject product due to quality defects

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Two years of Shipping/Distribution experience.
- Ability to supervise a staff of up to 25 people.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, with the ability to maintain a high level of commitment.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and respond quickly to changing priorities.
