**About Us**:Ummah Society operates within Atlantic Canada with locations across Halifax, Antigonish and Wolfville. There are approximately 100 employees within the growing organization. We strive to have an inclusive and adaptable environment.

The pillars within Ummah Society include a private school which teaches the NS curriculum up to grade 12. The second pillar is a registered daycare with a brand-new location that opened up in Chain Lake area. There is a community center where people can rent out the facility or order food from the commercial restaurant. Lastly there is a mosque where multiple events are held, including multicultural day.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Complete and oversee financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports as required to address specific business needs
- Ensure the organization is in compliance with all tax and financial reporting regulations.

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s level education*: MBA, MAcc, or MFin
- Accounting/Finance designation: CPA, CGA or CMA
- Experience in non-profit organizations
- Experience in Sage50 or similar software
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to manage a team
- Effectively communicate with various stakeholders and departments.
- Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to break down and interpret complex financial data
- Ability to manage changing priorities and navigate evolving business needs of Ummah Society.
- 10+ years in a senior level accounting/finance role
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement new financial tools and software as needed.
