**_ Position Duties and Responsibilities:_**
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build and erect walls, floor and roof systems.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware.

**_Required Qualifications_**:

- Red Seal or working towards Red Seal is an asset
- 1-2 years of experience.
- Highly motivated, energetic, personable, and forward-thinking.
- Has analytical skills, shows initiative, and can be flexible/adaptable.
- Knowledge of Federal/Provincial building codes.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial construction and remodelling, trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality, and cost control.
- Have your own basic hand, power tools, and personal protection equipment.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- First aid is an asset.

**_ Physical Requirements:_**
- Must be able to stand and be on their feet 10-12 hours/day.
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms.
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures.
