Activities Co-ordinator

The Activities Co-ordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our home. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of seniors. The Activities Co-ordinator will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, encouraging social interaction and personal growth among residents.
**Duties**
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being for residents.
- Assess the interests and needs of residents to tailor activities that are meaningful and enjoyable.
- Coordinate with staff, families, and volunteers to facilitate events and outings.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Document participation levels and gather feedback to continuously improve the activities program.
- Provide support and guidance to caregivers in understanding the benefits of engagement for seniors, particularly those with dementia or working with persons with disabilities.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage participation.
**Skills**
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience in senior care or caregiving settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices to create appropriate activities for affected individuals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Creativity in planning diverse activities that cater to various interests and abilities.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules, resources, and documentation effectively.
- Understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals in assisted living environments or nursing homes.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful engagement and community-building initiatives.
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
