**Responsibilities**:
As an Employment Worker for our Workplace English Training Program focused on Personal Support Workers (PSW), you will be at the forefront of guiding and supporting students in their journey toward successful employment. Your role will encompass career planning, professional development, and boosting students' confidence to not only secure a job but also thrive in their chosen career path.
- In collaboration with partner organization, provide personalized career coaching to PSW students, helping them build job-readiness skills, develop a clear career path, and actionable job search strategies;
- Assist students in identifying their strengths, skills, and areas for growth, and tailor coaching plans accordingly;
- Deliver mock interviews and offer constructive feedback to enhance students' interview performance;
- Conduct client intake, assess support and training needs, and refer clients to appropriate services;
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions on topics such as job search strategies, networking, and workplace communication;
- Coordinate and schedule guest speakers for workshops and professional development sessions;
- Facilitate orientation workshops to familiarize students with learning platforms (e.g., Zoom and Avenue) and virtual communication tools;
- Lead the planning and coordination of annual job fairs and professional networking events;
- Design and distribute promotional materials, and participate in outreach activities and attend community events to promote the program and engage prospective students and partners;
- Keep abreast of industry trends and labor market demands to provide relevant and up-to-date career advice; offer career and employment information and resources;
- Provide information to PSWs on keeping a job and career advancement;
- Build and maintain relationships with potential employers, industry partners, and recruitment agencies to create job placement opportunities;
- Monitor and track students' progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation;
- Collaborate with program instructors to ensure students are equipped with the necessary skills and confidence to succeed;
- Submit program narrative, statistical, and evaluation reports as required;
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor.

**Qualifications**:

- Canadian university degree or equivalent in a related field, preferably in Social Sciences, Education or Career Counselling;
- Minimum two years of related career coaching or student support experience, preferably in a not-for-profit setting; working experience in coaching or mentoring non-native English speakers;
- Excellent knowledge of cultural and social backgrounds of newcomers, including their settlement and integration issues;
- Knowledge of ESL program and resources available to assist newcomers;
- Strong background in career coaching, job placement, or human resources;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students; preferably with one additional language commonly used by students, such as Chinese;
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry, particularly the role of Personal Support Workers;
- Proven ability in program organization, service referral, task management, and working with diverse culture groups;
- Familiarity with job search strategies, interview techniques, and resume building;
- Empathetic and patient approach to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds;
- Proficiency in computer; Microsoft Office, video conferencing tools, digital tools and resources for career planning and job search.

**Other Requirements**:

- Ability to perform some physical activities (e.g. lifting and loading program materials and office equipment);
- A negative result in Vulnerable Sector Screening is mandatory;
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a car to carry out duties is preferred.
