Calgary, Canada Inclusion Alberta (Family Managed) Full time

We are seeking part-time **Inclusion Support Workers** who will be responsible for providing personal support to an individual with a developmental disability. We are seeking people who are creative, dynamic, and adaptive to dive into the individual’s interests and be creative at home.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Build a relationship with and get to know the individual being supported.
- Support the individual by being present and answering questions respectfully
- Safeguard the individual in the home and community when needed
- Have the ability to work independently in unstructured environments and to work collaboratively with the family and existing supports
- Communicate any issues promptly with the family and respond to unpredictable situations, if necessary, in a calm manner
- The ability to problem-solve and deal with unpredictable situations
- The ability to demonstrate patience and use thoughtful language
- The ability to lead by example and support our family member to continue learning new skills

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviours
- Experience and understanding of inclusion and community
- Excellent communication skills
- Employ effective time management skills
- Reliable vehicle/transportation
- Recent (within the last year) Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- First Aid and CPR certification

**Additional assets**:

- Nonviolent Crisis intervention Training (CPI) or equivalent
- Trauma Informed Care Training
- Abuse Prevention Response Protocols (APRP)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
