**Job Description** Mission**

We are actively looking for certified prevention officers to join our team at CIMA+. Under the supervision of the OHS Manager, you will be responsible for the OHS daily management on construction sites on behalf of our various clients in the Greater Montreal Area. We trust that you will enjoy participating in our stimulating and diversified projects.

As a prevention officer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling all the activities related to preventing hazards, accidents, and occupational injuries. You will ensure compliance with the safety code for construction work and prevention programs.

**Primary responsibilities**
- Ensure observance of applicable laws and the contractor’s master prevention program to maintain a safe environment for employees and members of the public.
- Carry out daily inspections, and document findings and disciplinary measures.
- Analyze risky situations, comment, or approve work methods.
- Welcome workers on the construction site, and keep the access log up to date.
- Host and document OHS site committee meetings, and partake in safety briefings as required.
- Take action when there is an accident risk, and take all appropriate measures to eliminate such risk.
- Participate in enquiries following incidents on the construction site.
- Support the CNESST inspector during their interventions.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma of college studies (DCS), a bachelor’s degree or any other relevant diploma
- Mandatory certification as a safety officer on construction sites issued by the CNESST
- At least three years of confirmed experience as a prevention officer
- Knowledge of OHS laws and regulations
- In-depth practical knowledge of the safety code for construction work
- Advanced practical knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel)
- Good writing skills
