Under the general direction of the Transportation & Logistics Manager, the Customs Coordinator is responsible for assisting in customs logístical functions associated with the import and export compliance of finished goods, spare parts and samples entering North America from different parts of the world.

**Primary Responsibilities Include**:

- Create and review import-export documentation related to Danby’s overseas shipment and inter-company Transfers between Canada and USA
- Submit documentation for customs clearance to brokers accordingly
- Assists on container diversion requests with broker to ensure right data transmission to CBSA or CBP
- Work with customs broker to solve clearance issues to prevent cargo delays upon arrival
- Review invoices received from brokers relating to imports / exports (Canada and USA) for accuracy, making sure entries are made properly, and report discrepancies to correspondent broker office as needed for correction
- Pull records and/or documentation required for duty drawback reporting for merchandise exported into the United States or Canada
- Supports Finance on the administration of imports documentation
- Review HS code tariff classification and country of origin regulation requirements

**Qualifications**:

- CCS certificate is preferred but not mandatory
- 2-5 years’ experience in customs administration or international trade compliance
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required for this position including experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate in the completion of tasks
- Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner, both verbally and in written correspondence
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and key business partners
- Strong problem-solving skills

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility with a combination of remote and in-office work. You will be required to be in the office at 5070 Whitelaw Road, Guelph, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, while having the option to work from home on other days.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Guelph, ON N1H 6J4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- customs administration: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation or higher (preferred)
