**Overview**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including domestic and U.S. cross-border shipments. This position ensures that products are transported efficiently, meet food safety and customs requirements, and arrive on time and in excellent condition.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Shipping and Transportation Coordination**
- Plan, book, and track outbound shipments of processed vegetables throughout Canada and the U.S.
- Coordinate inbound shipments of packaging, ingredients, and supplies to support production schedules.
- Schedule transportation with approved carriers and ensure all loads are picked up and delivered on time.
- Communicate daily with drivers, dispatchers, and freight brokers to manage schedules, changes, and exceptions.
- Monitor cold chain compliance to ensure temperature-controlled products are transported safely.

**Cross-Border Export Logistics**
- Prepare and review all cross-border shipping documents, including commercial invoices, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Phytosanitary certificates, and FDA Prior Notice submissions.
- Liaise with customs brokers and ensure all paperwork is submitted accurately and on time to prevent border delays.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. import regulations, USDA, and FDA requirements related to product exports.
- Track shipments to confirm successful clearance and delivery.

**Inventory and Warehouse Coordination**
- Work closely with Plant Operations teams to align product availability with shipping schedules.
- Verify inventory levels and coordinate product staging for outbound shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipment and inventory records int eh logistics management system.

**Compliance and Documentation**
- Ensure all transportation and shipping activities comply with CFIA, HACCP, SQF, and food traceability standards.
- Maintain shipping logs, temperature records, and other traceability records.
- Support internal and external audits by providing complete and accurate logistics records.

**Carrier and Vendor Management**
- Maintain relationships with freight carriers, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
- Evaluate carrier performance and negotiate rates where appropriate.
- Assist in resolving freight claims, delivery discrepancies, and temperature issues.

**Reporting and Continuous Improvement**
- Prepare regular logistics performance reports (on-time delivery, freight costs, carrier reliability).
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, improved routing, and process efficiencies.
- Support the development of standard operating procedures for logistics and transportation.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or transportation coordination - ideally in a food manufacturing or agricultural environment.
- Strong understanding of cross-border shipping procedures and customs compliance.
- Knowledge of CFIA, HACCP, SQF, and FDA/USDA export requirements.
- Experience working with freight brokers, customs documentation, and ERP systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and logistics reporting tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and adapt to seasonal production fluctuations.
