**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Licensed Trades workers with the daily on-going operation, control, repair, preventative and predictive maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems and all associated fittings and piping. The incumbent is also responsible to assist in maintaining the appearance of the facility including drywall, paint, ceiling tiles, doors and hardware.
- Assist with maintaining, updating, and repairing HVAC related building support systems including, heat recovery systems, motors, humidification systems, re-heat coils, heat pumps, cooling towers, roof top heating and cooling systems, pneumatics, plumbing systems, pumps, electrical and electronic controls.
- Assist with performing scheduled predictive and preventative maintenance and repair on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical equipment. Test, calibrate, and adjust equipment. Ensure code compliance of systems by performing inspections and testing.
- Prepare required documentation, update manuals, and provide information regarding work conducted for input onto the computerized maintenance management system
- Use computers to monitor and adjust building automation systems.
- Monitor and inspect work performed by contractors, trades workers, and mechanics and report findings and or discrepancies to manager.
- Source information and parts by contacting vendors, technical libraries and internet to estimate material quantities and costs for projects and repair activities. Purchase required materials via purchase order or corporate credit card.
- Provide technical information and support to unskilled staff as required.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical systems equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A minimum of a two-year diploma as a Building Operator, Operating Engineer, Gas Technician 2 or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience troubleshooting and repairing systems related to HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical.
- Must have working knowledge of the Energy Act, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical related Code, CSA standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
- Capable of working independently and in a group.
- Possession of a valid G driver’s license is required.

Starting Rate: $30.56; Four Year Rate: $35.42
