**Position Description**:
The **Blood and Marrow Transplant/Cellular Therapy (BMT/CT) Data Manager **is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of clinical patient data for the division of Haematology/Oncology. Working closely with the Principal Investigator for the CIBMTR registry, the Clinical Manager, and Medical Director of BMT/CT, the Data Manager supports best practices for database workflow, internal and external databases and WEB based technologies. The BMT/CT Data Manager is fundamental to the maintenance of patient documentation in accordance to the Foundation of the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) accreditation standards, the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) and supports program quality management initiatives.

- You will work closely with the Blood and Marrow Transplant/Cellular Therapy program staff, including research, nursing, cell lab, physician, and administration colleagues
- Your clinical expertise will be instrumental in performing data collection including chart reviews and extracting data. You will collect pre
- and post-transplant data components for the program through the effective utilization of the hospital medical record systems
- You will be responsible for the accurate and timely compilation, documentation, and entry of data into the database in accordance with CIBMTR data requirements and timelines.

- You will be responsible for maintaining long-term outcomes data
- You will review data for quality and completeness and assist with QI/QA of the database
- You will be responsible for effectively communicating with all staff as a liaison for CIBMTR
- You will assist with FACT inspections and CIBMTR audits
- You will remain current and updated on expertise regarding the CIBMTR standards and requirements, and provide information to the BMT/CT program leadership
- You will ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, including those for the FACT and CIBMTR

**Here’s What You’ll Need**
- University undergraduate degree required
- **Certified with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) and active member in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association, (CHIMA), is a strong asset**:

- Clinical chart review and data extraction experience a must
- Previous experience with Data Analysis
- Computer and Internet experience required - familiarity and comfort with MS Office products is essential for success in this position (Word and Excel
- required; PowerPoint and preferred)
- Experience with EPIC or other electronic health record systems are preferred
- Previous experience with database maintenance preferred
- Self-motivated, adaptable, flexible, takes initiative and detail oriented
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pathophysiology is an asset
- Familiarity with oncological disease processes and treatments is an asset
- Sound knowledge of privacy legislation
- Ability to think critically and develop innovative ways to effectively manage large volumes of patient data
- Ability to build relationships and gain alignment for clinical support; must be able to articulate questions to receive an appropriate level of support from superiors and peers
- High level of sound judgment, problem solving, diplomacy, and relationship building skills are necessary
- Ability to function independently and as a part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- High level of critical thinking, analytical and research skills are required to obtain information and provide creative and fundamentally sound recommendations on a variety of issues
- Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
- Able to work effectively and influence at all levels in an organization, a team player and able to work with and through others
