**Position Summary**
- Vancouver Community College Continuing Studies is seeking a skilled instructor to teach in the Counselling Skills Department, in the Award of Achievement in Addiction Counselling Skills This is a contract position, and the instructor will be hired on a course-by-course basis.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Qualifications**
- A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or Psychology is preferred but a mix of appropriate education and experience will be considered.
- The instructor is expected to teach about the continuum of addiction treatment available to people dealing with substance use.
- They are also expected to create a secure learning environment where students can dialogue and hear constructive feedback from others, including students.

**Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE**
- The selected instructor can expect to earn approximately $80 per instructional hour. This rate includes wages plus a percentage in lieu of benefits.

- Courses range from 30-40 hours of classroom teaching. Classes are generally held from 6:15-9:30pm one evening per week online via Zoom. Instructors are responsible for additional time for marking, preparation and communicating with students outside of class time when necessary.
