**Job Summary**:
The Waste Management Program Coordinator supports the planning and implementation of the Halton Solid Waste Management Strategy initiatives.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assists_ _with the planning, co-ordination, and administration of waste management programs and the related public relations including attendance at public meetings to meet divisional objectives and long-term strategy goals.
- Collects, evaluates and analyzes data relative to the waste management programs to create statistical management reports for benchmarking and performance management.
- Conducts trend analysis to identify targets and areas for enhancement.
- Interprets and reviews compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
- Supports the planning, execution and reporting aspects of Extended Producer Responsibility programs
- Conducts research and analysis of new and emerging trends, policies and technologies in waste management for reporting and recommendations on Halton’s programs
- Responds to public inquiries regarding the Region’s waste management programs.
- Represents the Region on external committees.
- Performs other duties as required.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- College diploma/university degree in Environmental Studies/Science, Environmental Planning, Geography or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience with municipal solid waste management.
- Computer proficiency and experience using various social media platforms.
- Broad knowledge, skills and experience in research, data management, policy development/analysis, planning and program evaluation.
- Excellent team building, time management, multi-tasking and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in sound data analysis, excellent customer service and complaint resolution skills are essential.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

- Travel will be required; incumbent must provide their own transportation.
- Flexibility in working hours will be required and there will be the occasional need for work on Saturdays and evenings.

- Current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, by the first day of employment.
- A valid Ontario Class G driver’s license is required.
