Parliamentary Returns Officer

We are looking for a Parliamentary Returns Officer to support our Stakeholder Relations and Parliamentary Affairs team.
Reporting to the Director, Stakeholder Relations and Parliamentary Affairs, the Parliamentary Returns Officer plays a key role in coordinating the process of providing NRC’s responses to Parliamentary Returns and submitting them to the Parliamentary Affairs group at Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) Canada.
Your duties will include:
- Acknowledge, confirm and negotiate parameters involved in responding to the Parliamentary Returns received by NRC with officials in the Paliamentary Affairs group at ISED.
- Liase with internal stakeholders to clearly communicate requests for information, identify appropriate sources for data and seek additional details if needed.
- Perform quality control on NRC’s reponses to ensure they are translated and formatted correctly and submitted in accordance with practices, parameters and guidelines set out by Privy Council Office and ISED.
- Ensure NRC’s responses to Parliamentary Returns are vetted through appropriate channels, including the Director General of NRC Communications Branch and Access to information and Privacy Office.
- Develop a weekly report summarizing active Paliamentary Returns files and submit it to the Director, Stakeholder Relations and Paliamentary Affairs.
- Maintain information and files related to Paliamentary Returns activities.
- Maintain a database of Parliamentary Returns and conduct analysis to monitor level of effort and determine trends for planning purposes.
The position may also involve support for other requirements in the Policy, Strategy, and Performance branch.
**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
Successful completion of secondary school education according to provincial/territorial standards.
A combination of experience and/or training may also be considered.

**Experience**:
- Experience* in coordinating administrative, and operational projects or activities.
- Significant** experience organizing files (hardcopy and electronic) and assembling documentation for signature by executives.
- Experience working in a matrix environment.
- Experience in building relationships and working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience using MSOutlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to prepare and format documents.
**Note**:
- Experience is defined as a minimum of two years.
**Significant means at least three years.**Condition of Employment**:

**Compensation**:
From $64,022 to $75,389 per annum.
In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
