Urban One is looking for an organized and detail-oriented **Assistant Superintendent** to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Superintendent to support the planning, execution, and tracking of construction projects. You will play an integral role in ensuring project schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with and implement Urban One’s Safety Program to ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly production schedules and project look-ahead plans.
- Ensure project construction is completed in compliance with schedules, budgets, and contract documents while upholding quality management standards.
- Execute work per contract documents, plans, specifications, and shop drawings, including coordinating and managing changes to the work.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and Project Manager on temporary worker hiring decisions, ensuring optimal productivity among employees, trade partners, and suppliers.
- Monitor project execution to ensure it aligns with contracts, plans, and specifications, addressing discrepancies or issues with the Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Assist in reviewing trade contracts and scopes of work to identify and address discrepancies with project requirements.
- Support the Superintendent in reviewing drawings for dimensional accuracy, constructability, and durability, as well as reviewing budgets to understand project assumptions and conditions.
- Coordinate routine and occupancy-related inspections with authorities and other governing bodies.
- Attend, chair, and document regularly scheduled trade meetings to maintain effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, or Construction Management
- Minimum 5 years of field supervision experience or a combination of relevant education and experience
- Understanding of contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
- Strong organizational and planning skills with prioritizing and multi-tasking abilities to meet time sensitive deadlines
- Proven track record of team collaboration
- Gold Seal accreditation (an asset)
- Red Seal Carpenter (Journeyman) Certificate (an asset)
