**Position**
The FoMD Office of the Dean has an exciting opportunity for someone to fill the new role of an AMHSP Specialist.
The AMHSP Specialist will provide a wide range of high-level operational support in the faculty office and to Department Chairs, Academic Department Managers, Associate Chairs, Divisional Directors, faculty (Academic and Clinical), and administrative staff of AMHSP departments.
The Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP) ensures physicians affiliated with Alberta's faculties of medicine are compensated for providing patient care along with their work related to research, innovation, education, administration and leadership.
The AMHSP has enabled innovation across academic medicine and brought some of the best and brightest people in academic medicine to Alberta.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Faculty Services, the AMSHP Specialist will work with departments and Alberta Health Services to expand and bring on new AMHSP arrangements.
**Duties**
- Act as the first and main point of contact and key administrative resource for the Faculty Office with respect to AMHSP recruitment.
- Act as a key administrative resource for department AMHSP as well as external stakeholders: Alberta Health Services (AHS) and College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta
- Develops and implements FoMD AMHSP faculty recruitment process and standards when recruiting faculty, locum and AMHSP physicians
- Leads program and policy development for AMHSP recruitment
- Coordination of the Faculty's academic recruitment operations and ensures academic appointments and contracts have been vetted through the appropriate channels
- Review and support processing of all AMHSP academic contracts including appointment proposals and supplementary conditions
- Support the recruitment of academic staff for departments with new or expanding AMHSP arrangements
- Work with the FoMD department and Alberta Health Services Administration to ensure parallel processes are completed in a timely matter
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Degree in a related field (Human Resources, Business, or Administration).
- 3-5 years experience in a post-secondary institution or other medium to large unionized organization.
- Understanding of physician alternate funding plans (AMHSP, Cost Share).
- Faculty recruitment experience
- Experience with developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders.
