Blossom & Bud Childcare is a multi-age childcare facility, serving up to 8 children. It was established in 2018 and is owned and operated through Kootenay Employment Services Society. Blossom and Bud Childcare is committed to creating a healthy, nurturing, environment for children where they can grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially at their own pace. The center normally has two ECE staff with overlapping schedules during the busy time midday. Children drop-off starts at 7:30 am and pick-up is no later than 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

**Position Summary**

**Job Title**: Early Childhood Educator **or** Early Childhood Educator **Assistant**

**Location**: Blossom and Bud Childcare; 419 4th Avenue S, Creston, British Columbia

**Start Date**: September or Sooner

**Term/Status**: Temporary - December 12th to January 13th (Dec 26 - 30th & January 2nd daycare closed)

**Hours**: 7 AM - 1:30 PM **or** 11 AM - 5 PM

**Hourly Wage**: $19 per hour (+ $6 wage enhancement if you have ECE certificate)

**Requirements**:

- ECE **or** ECE Assistant certificate or possibility of getting their ECE assistant certificate

w For the assistant certificate you would need a character reference and one of these courses (completed or in process of completing):
w child guidance;
w child health, safety, and nutrition;
w or child development
- Experience working in a childcare setting or providing care to young children
- Criminal Record Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
- Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Has a working understanding of, or is open to learning about, the BC Early Learning Framework

**Responsibilities**
- Genuinely care for the emotional, social, and cognitive needs of every child
- Clean childcare centre
- Assist other caregiver(s) with duties including recycling, shopping, etc.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with other caregiver(s) on a regular basis
- Follow safety standards
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to children, families, and the centre.
