**_Data Protection Analyst_**
As an important part of the Strategic data team, this role will support new regulatory requirements (e.g., Bill 64), as well as internal policies and standards to manage critical business risks to protect and secure our customer and corporate data. They will take the lead on data protection initiatives, working closely with business, technology, and oversight partners.
The Data Protection Analyst role will need to present and facilitate data protection status updates, training, and workshops to business partners, including senior leaders
They will develop and design guidelines and playbooks for Individual Customer and Advisory Network implementation of data protection processes and controls.
**What you will do**
- Provide expertise and guidance on data protection elements of major privacy law compliance initiatives, engaging and supporting work with business and oversight partners
- Support the successful implementation of privacy law compliance initiatives
- Successful design and implementation of data protection controls
- Ongoing monitoring and reporting on data protection control design and effectiveness
- Liaison with data governance to maintain a registry of data processing for the area, including data retention obligations
- Review data breaches and take part in post-incident lessons learned, as well as, supporting changes to prevent further incidents
- Support project teams and privacy reps in the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments
- Creation of IC/AN level data protection monitoring and reporting
- Contribute to Canada-wide data protection reporting and shares insights with other business areas to improve data protection risk culture
- Participate and actively contribute in forums for data protection and community of practice events
**What you will bring**
- 6-9 years of relevant experience and a degree in related field of study, or an equivalent combination of bachelor’s degree and extensive related experience.
- Good knowledge of our organization and its data with a focus on IC and AN is an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication and facilitation skills, as you will need to interact with many teams at a variety of levels within the organization including ability to communicate with users of various technical backgrounds
- Data protection skills and experience preferred
- Ability to provide leadership for various projects
- Ability to identify, investigate, and define problems that are not immediately evident, are difficult or sometimes complex, and where information may not be readily available
- Able to work independently to determine methods and procedures and manage many complicated tasks at one time while prioritizing and meeting deadlines
