To keep up with our rapid growth, we are looking for a **Manufacturing** **Technical Writer** to join our growing team, all while being a leading example of our company culture.
**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Complete assigned projects in accordance with established objectives;
- Create, maintain, and update user friendly documentation, including, but not limited to: User Training Manuals, SOPs, Release Notes User, Quick Start Guides value stream mapping, Process flowcharts, Checklists and other documents and templates;
- Participate in development of interactive and self-paced training materials, including detailed task breakdown, visual aids, videos for new and existing products;
- Ensure grammatical, spelling and formatting accuracy;
- Translate existing documentation, and other materials as required, between French and English;
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Quality Control and other counterparts on a day-to-day basis to draft, edit and publish our technical documentation;
- Edit documentation for clarity without changing key information;
- Organize and write supporting documents for Hardware products and maintain records and files of work and revisions;
- Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts that increase technician’s understanding of the documents;
- Gather feedback from Technicians, Team Leads, and Supervisors to update and improve the documents;
- Study drawings, specifications, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail;
- Produce high quality technical documentation in a variety of formats and tools;
- Advise internal teams on the appropriateness, applicability and effectiveness of specific technical documents, formats, notations and technologies;
- Develop and maintain documentation repository;
- Work with internal team members and cross-functional teams to define metrics for tracking documentation usage and impact;
**WHAT YOU WILL BRING**
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Documentation or equivalent;
- Over 3 years of experience in technical writing or relevant role;
- Bilingual (French and English) and demonstrated good communication skills in both languages;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, excellent problem solving, analytical and synthesis skills;
- Collaborative communication style and a proactive, positive disposition;
- Good knowledge of the fundamental principles of manufacturing engineering;
- Good sense of organization, planning and problem solving;
- Developed autonomy and positive and proactive attitude;
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, Visio, SharePoint & Confluence;
- Ability to perform work in a production and development environment;
- Mastery of CAD tools (AutoCAD, DraftSight, Visio, etc.) an asset.
