The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for performing purchasing, accounting, and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. Attendance, as scheduled, is an essential function of Accounts Payable job.

Major Activities

Coordinate with Receiving Department to ensure that incoming merchandise has been received correctly in the system
Reconcile invoices with packing slips and code with correct G/L for timely processing to vendors
Respond to supplier inquires on invoice status
Prepare and process accounts payable checks, cost transfers, and credit payments Reconciliation of payments to manifest
Monitor accounts to ensure accruals are up to date
Resolve invoice discrepancies
Maintain suppliers’ files
Produce month-end reports and complete month-end closing
Source and purchase supplies, materials, and parts for the facility.
Run inventory of daily supplies and create and submit purchase orders for the subsequent production day.
Maintain a clean work area for safe and efficient operation, including replenishment of supplies.
Cross-train into other positions and provide support to other production teams or functions as needed.

Minimum Education
High School Diploma

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills
Mid-to-advanced level proficiency in Excel, Word; 10-key by touch

Minimum Type of experience the job requires
2 years’ Accounts Payable/Business Administration experience
Thorough knowledge of accounts payable/general ledger; chart of accounts
High numerical intelligence; ability to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately

Other
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; convey and receive information
Detail-oriented and accurate
Keen sense of urgency
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to critically analyze problems and develop effective solutions
Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills

Preferred Education
2 year College degree in accounting

Physical Requirements
Ability to constantly sit and frequently bend
Ability to occasionally walk and stand
Ability to occasionally lift, and carry up to 10lbs/4.6 kgs

Work Environment
Occasionally high noise levels and moving machinery
Ability to work safely within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
