**Berwick on the Lake **retirement community is looking for an **Active Living Assistant** **(Recreation)** who is reliable, authentic, and excited to make a difference in the lives of people. **Schedule**:
This position is **casual** and the hours will be as needed.

**Pay**:
Starting Wage is **$23.38** (Includes covid-19 wage subsidy), plus existing differentials.

**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Active Living Manager or Active Living Coordinator on duty, and in accordance with the Berwick values and philosophy, this position performs a variety of manual, clerical and routine support functions in connection with active living programs at Berwick. The Active Living Assistant supports the delivery, and may assist with planning, of active living programs as directed by Active Living Manager or Active Living Coordinator. Provides residents with a safe and comfortable environment by remaining aware of, and following health and safety policy and procedures. May be responsible for “Emergency Response” for the building and its occupants during designated evening shifts and/or on bus outings.

- Demonstrated ability to work well with seniors and the general public
- Professional, confidential and strong time management skills
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and be well organized

**Qualifications**:

- Class 4 BC Driver’s License would be an asset
- Food Safe Level 1 Certification if handling or serving food
- Valid Emergency Level 1 First Aid Certificate and CPR
- WHMIS Certification
- Proficient with MS Office: Excel, Word and Outlook
- Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset.

**Experience**:

- Related experience working with seniors and/or with supporting recreation or leisure programs would be an asset
- Experience with assisting at events would be an asset

Note: *A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults. Current TB test and proof of Covid-19 Vaccination also required.
