Job Description

The Solutions Consulting - Web Performance team’s mission is to make commerce websites fast for everyone. By partnering with the largest established high-growth, high-volume Shopify Plus merchants, you will help accelerate their growth and ensure their long-term success on the Shopify platform.

Using their experience of working with Merchants, the Solutions Consultant (WP) will be expected to innovate and drive improvement back into the core products/platform. This will involve influencing and leading cross-functional teams including Product Management, Merchant Success, Solutions Engineering, and Launch Engineering.

The Solutions Consulting (WP) team also designs and implements programs to build brand awareness within the performance community through activities such as webinars, blogging, and social media activities.

Your responsibilities:

- Present technical solutions to help merchants achieve their business goals through one on one consultations.
- Translate a merchant’s complex business requirements into key business objectives to be actioned on with both technical and non-technical merchant stakeholders.
- Promote Shopify performance best practices, through blog posts and webinars, to the wider merchant community and the external web performance community.
- Managing merchant and internal team’s expectations before, during, and after engagements through strong communications.
- Build relationships at multiple levels within a merchant’s organization to fully understand their business and performance culture.
- Providing ad-hoc technical and product guidance to the Merchant Success, Solutions Engineering, and Launch Engineering teams.
- Help shape Shopify’s best practices through experiencing industry trends firsthand and communicating findings internally to product teams.
- Being hands-on with the Shopify platform, demonstrating the product as it relates to a merchant’s overall infrastructure.
- Staying up to date on the latest Web Performance and eCommerce trends and landscape

Qualifications

We would like to know if you have experience in:

- Front-end development and website performance optimization
- Performance measurement including RUM and Synthetic testing
- Diagnosing performance issues
- Communicating issues and proposing solutions to customers
- Current front end best practices as well as a knowledge of network layer optimization
- Image and Video Optimisation
- Knowledge of how browsers work
- Deep knowledge of a SaaS product or platform
- Working with headless architectures
