We also offer educational support, profit sharing and participation in our recognition and annual salary reviews program. **Opportunity Summary** Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Construction Safety Officer will be responsible for working collaboratively with site project teams and in partnership with our sub-trades to implement and monitor the site-specific safety plan, ensure compliance, report concerns, and implement solutions in accordance with Companies safety program. **This role is employed through CLAC, and membership will be required once hired.** **Key Responsibilities** - Actively monitor and influence work progress to ensure compliance with health and safety at the project site - Proven ability in building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple stakeholders - Ability to work with stakeholders to find creative, and balanced solutions to problems - Document progress in daily progress reports - Provide site orientations to new workers/visitors to the site - Monitor compliance to safety procedures and policies - Educate workers on safety standards and best practices - Initiate and supports incident response, notification, and investigation activities - Conduct Toolbox meetings for site staff - Review all Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA) - Act as required to immediately correct unsafe acts or conditions - Communicate safety requirements to all on site - Model the Company Values **Scott Construction Values** - **People First |** _When we take care of people, we take care of Scott, our Industry, and our communities._ - **Safety Always |** _We owe it to each other to get home safely._ - **Seek Better Ways |** _Innovation and development fuels growth._ - **Get It Done |** _Find a solution, take the initiative, and deliver on every commitment._ - **Have Fun |** _Enjoy what you do._ - **Own It |** _Be accountable and take pride in each day’s work._ **Qualifications** - Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification required. - Proven ability in building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across various sites. - Current Fall Protection, SiteReadyBC, Transport endorsement, and Occupational First Aid Level 2 required. - Proficient working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook - Excellent communication and influencing skills. - Ability to work with stakeholders to find creative, and balanced solutions to problems. - Adherence and modelling of all Scott Construction Core Values For further information, visit our web-site or our LinkedIn profile. **Salary**: $33.06-$38.58 per hour
