**Summer Student Opportunity: Empower Communities Through Education**

**(May 15 - July 15)**

Join Rowan House Society as a **Preventative Education Facilitator** this summer and make a real impact You'll help deliver vital information about domestic violence, abuse, and healthy relationships through engaging school and community presentations, as well as client support groups and training sessions.

This role is perfect for a student in Social Work or a related field looking to gain hands-on experience in preventative education. You'll have the exciting opportunity to develop online learning resources, update presentation materials with the latest research, and even train other facilitators.

**What you'll do**:

- Co-facilitate presentations and groups on topics like bullying, healthy relationships, and domestic violence.
- Develop engaging online learning materials for staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Review and update presentation content to reflect current best practices and cultural competence.
- Help organize and participate in community and fundraising events.
- Ensure accurate documentation and client feedback.

**What you'll bring**:

- Enrollment in Social Work or a related field, returning to studies after the summer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of domestic violence and abuse and trauma-informed practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
- Commitment to cultural humility and diversity.

**Requirements**:

- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Intervention Check
- Certification in CPR/First Aid
- Valid driver's license, clear abstract, and reliable transportation.

This position requires the individual to be in the community, however, an office space will be available at the Okotoks office and/or Emergency Shelter

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Okotoks, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
