As a Prep Cook at The Shady Rest, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing ingredients, assisting with meal prep, maintaining cleanliness, and following all food safety guidelines. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills in a fast-paced culinary environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits.
- Prepare and portion food items such as meats, sauces, and side dishes.
- Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality.
- Organize and store ingredients, keeping the kitchen area clean and well-stocked.
- Assist chefs with daily kitchen tasks, including setting up prep stations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and ensure food is stored at proper temperatures.
- Assist with inventory management and ingredient ordering as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
- Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for food.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be available to work weekends and evenings.
