Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate woodworking machinery and tools, such as saws, routers, and sanders
  • Cut, shape, and assemble wood pieces to build cabinets and furniture according to blueprints and design specifications
  • Ability to work with sheet goods, veneers and solid wood
  • Install hardware, such as hinges, drawer slides
  • Collaborate with team members, including designers and other cabinet makers, to ensure projects are completed on time and to client satisfaction

Experience / Skills

  • Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or similar role
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and tools
  • Skilled in operating woodworking machinery and hand tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a shop environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
  • Posses strong problem-solving and creative skills to develop custom designs and solutions

Ability to commute/relocate

  • York, ON M6E 4X3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**

  • Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**

  • cabinet making: 5 years (required)

**Language**

  • English (required)

Licence/Certification

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
