Position overview:
Viessmann is seeking a skilled **Product Documentation and Specifications Technician** to join our team within the **North American Engineering Centre**. In this role, you will be instrumental in the creation of product manuals, technical documentation, and design drawings and specifications that support the full product lifecycle and ensure compliance with Viessmann standards in North America. You'll work collaboratively with teams across North America, Europe, and other global locations to develop comprehensive and clear documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Technical documentation creation and maintenance:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product manuals, user guides, and technical documentation using software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Google Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Maintain and update the catalog of technical documents, ensuring consistency and availability of the latest revisions.
- Proofread and edit technical documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with Viessmann's corporate standards.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and translators to ensure the accurate translation of technical documentation into multiple languages, meeting international standards.
- Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings, exploded views, as both manufacturing drawings and for use within product documentation.
Product design and collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including R&D and other global facilities, to finalize product designs and specifications.
- Participate in the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing phases of mechanical systems and components, ensuring all elements meet required performance and design criteria.
- Support the development and review of technical specifications to be included with products.
- Provide technical support to other departments, including training on new product specifications and features.
Required skills and qualifications:
- **Documentation skills**: Proven ability to create clear, concise technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- **Education**: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- **Experience**: Experience in the North American HVAC industry would be an asset.
- **Technical proficiency**: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, MS Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Design Suite.
- **Mechanical aptitude**: Experience with prototype development, fabrication, assembly, and hands-on testing of mechanical systems.
- **Communication**: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for explaining complex technical concepts in simple terms.
- **Standards & certifications**: Willingness to develop expertise in North American standards such as ASME, AFUE, CRN, and CSA.
- **Team collaboration**: Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
