**Job Description**:
Key Responsibilities:

- Work on defined projects and initiatives that support worker health, safety, and environmental compliance (eg. Government submissions, risk assessments, etc.)
- Assist in program & procedure development and implementation
- Collect process data and perform calculations
- Track and follow up with sites to ensure timely reporting
- Review HSE related KPI's in order to target areas of improvement
- Assist in compiling government reporting for North America
- Update the department’s internal documentation library
- Liaise with plant staff on health, safety and environmental issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
- May require some travel to manufacturing sites within Toronto GTA
- Should be comfortable to wear personal protective equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat and gloves

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

- Must be enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year student in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science
- Strong interest in health and safety and/or environmental studies
- Excellent organization and analytical skills
- Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish priorities and work effectively in a team
- Strong technical writing skills to be able to create documents for an adult learning audience
- Strong commitment to the Health and Safety and the Environment

Preferred Experience:

- Knowledge of health, safety and/or environmental legislation will be an asset
- Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment would be an asset
- Ability to read and interpret safety and environmental legislation and engineering documents
- Excellent working knowledge of tools like MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), SharePoint, etc.
