Centre Assistant

Airdrie, Canada Kumon Math and Reading Center of Airdrie – Veterans Blvd & Main St. Full time

The Center Assistant is responsible for assisting the Kumon Instructor in the overall running of the center (instruction, center management, communication, etc.). Below are some of the duties you may be asked to perform.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work efficiently and effectively with one or two younger or new Kumon students at a time to provide instruction through utilization of the Kumon Method and worksheets
- Grade of student classwork, homework, and corrections and organizing of Student worksheets
- Provide Instructor with written or verbal feedback, as needed, based on student observations and/or student performance on worksheets
- Communicate with students and parents during class-time, addressing student and parental needs, professionally, quickly, and quietly
- Assist with marketing initiatives and retention events
- Supervising, interacting with and motivating students during the instruction hour
- Maintaining a neat and tidy workspace
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Love working with children of all ages
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong math and reading skills a plus
- Understanding Kumon method is considered an asset, but is not required
- Flexibility to deal with regular interruptions and changes in routine

**Notes**:

- Applicants will be tested for appropriate skills
- Ongoing training outside hours of work (as stated above) are require and will be compensated.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Weekend availability

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
