**Position Overview**: The Team Lead works within the Phoenix Supportive Housing Program (PSHP), which is comprised of two residential programs that offer long-term housing for youth aged 16-24. The programs are Phoenix Homes for Independence (PHI) and Phoenix House (PH). This position works primarily with Phoenix Homes for Independence. Under the supervision of the Manager, the Team Lead is responsible for providing case management and supportive counselling to ten youth residing in the Homes for Independence Program.
**Program Overview**:The Phoenix Homes for Independence (PHI) is a program for ten youth living in three homes who are transitioning from semi-independent living with on-site staff, to independent living.**Phoenix House, the second PSHP residential program, is a ten-bed co-ed residence. Through 24/7 support, it offers safe, supportive housing for youth learning skills for independent living.
The Team Lead will work out of a shared office space located in a three-storey residential House in downtown Halifax. Access to the facility and its interior is via stairs at street level. The facility features gender-neutral washrooms and a shared kitchen area. There are multiple common areas that can be accessed by both youth and staff. There is also access to an outdoor space at the back of the location that can be used outdoor activities. There is also a staff fridge at this location as well that is accessible by all agency staff.

**Compensation**:**$53,025 annual salary, comprehensive group medical insurance plan, Employee and Family Assistance Program, 3% Employer paid RRSP contribution, 3 weeks of vacation in the first year and 4 weeks of vacation in the second year, generous sick leave, a generous paid holiday schedule, in-house trainings, and professional development opportunities.
**Hours of Work**: 40 hours per week with some flexibility, primarily Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Occasional additional evening and/or weekend work as required. Week-long on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis also required.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure the program delivery is congruent with Phoenix’s vision and values.
- Work in accordance with Phoenix’s policies, procedures, and framework of practice.
- Assist youth with the development of short-and long-term goals that support their transition to independent living.
- Identify and make plans to address issues of concern that would prohibit youth from successfully transitioning to independence.
- Offer direct service to youth including interviewing, orientation, case management, support meetings, crisis intervention, programming (individual and group) and departure activities.
- Offer direct programming services to youth, including both life skills development and recreational/community building programming.
- Ensure a therapeutic milieu, including having a regular presence in the Homes and supervising regular maintenance work in the homes.
- Complete and maintain records, assessments, statistics, and files, and ensure confidentiality is protected.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the program including strategic planning; evaluation; and providing leadership and supervision of the staff team.
- Advocate with community agencies on behalf of the program and its youth.
- Commit to Phoenix’s development and participate in internal committees, projects, and activities.
- Support the supervision of student placements and volunteers.
- Liaise and advocate with other agencies and participate in community committees, projects, or activities.
- Fulfill cooking and cleaning responsibilities.
- Other duties as required.
