Bedford, Canada Municipal Group of Companies Full time

The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based out of the Bedford Office. This position will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Perform the day-to-day accounts payable duties specific to verification and reconciliation of vendor accounts statements
- Reconciliation of all vendor accounts and research any billing issues
- Effectively communicate to outside vendors in a professional manner
- Maintain an up-to-date, well-organized filing system
- Solid Understanding of accounts payable principles/procedures
- Processing up to 200 invoices daily for multiple companies in compliance with our companies’ financial policies and procedures
- Identify, minimize and manage risk to the Company
- Work in a timely manner and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Any other duties as required

**Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an account payable or an accounting clerk role preferred
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
- Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Fast Learner with good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good investigation, prioritization and organizational skills
- Solid customer service skills; effectively able to build relationships with vendors
