**LABOUR RELATIONS COORDINATOR** 4 or 6-Month Co-op, Internship or Work Study opportunity Vancouver Island or Vancouver Lower Mainland (hybrid work) **About BC Ferries** As one of the largest ferry networks in the world, BC Ferries connects communities across British Columbia, providing vital passenger and vehicle ferry services. With 39 ferries operating over 25 routes, we are dedicated to delivering a safe, efficient, and sustainable travel experience for our customers while managing our extensive marine and shore-based infrastructure at 47 terminals across the coast of BC. **The Opportunity** Our dynamic, and busy Labour Relations centre of expertise is keen to bring in a co-op, internship or work-study student to support our current workload demands; in particular supporting with the collation of data as we prepare for collective bargaining. As a member of our team, you will be instrumental in providing support for the Labour Relations team as they enter into bargaining over the next several months. **The Role** Supporting the Labour Relations team, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as: - Assisting in the research and analysis of collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and industry best practices. - Attending and take notes during meetings between management and union representatives. - Helping prepare and organize materials for upcoming labor negotiations or dispute resolutions. - Providing administrative support to the labor relations team, including filing, data entry, and maintaining records. - Collaborating with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations. - Assisting with tracking and reporting on key labor relations metrics and trends. - Participating in training sessions or workshops to enhance knowledge of labor relations and employment law. - Responding to inquiries from employees and management regarding union policies, workplace issues, and labor agreements. - Maintaining confidential information, both electronically and manually, and - Any additional duties as required. **What you bring to the team** Education/Certification: - Preference to those studying human resources or labour relations.
