**Job Location**:Coquitlam, BC

**Salary Range**: 55,000 - $60,000/ yearly

The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union hourly team members while ensuring a safe and professional work environment, which fosters BEST’s culture, mission, and values. This position will also be responsible for the full administration of all company benefits plans. Additionally, the incumbent will have a focus on becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Benefits.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Process Bi-weekly payroll for union and Non-union hourly team members;
- Process Personnel file maintenance (new hires, re-hires, rate changes, personal info changes etc.);
- Process terminations and ROE’s:

- Benefits Administration (enrollment, termination, remittances, and reconciliation)
- Handle all incoming inquires with benefits
- Reconciliations, reports and payments (union dues report, seniority report, and benefits);
- Process garnishments and off-cycle payments as needed;
- Investigate payroll discrepancies & handle T4 related inquiries;
- Remain up-to-date with Employment Standards, collective agreements, wage scales, and company policies;
- Maintain and update training portal
- Other duties as required.

**Skills Required**:

- Basic accounting knowledge;
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, & intermediate knowledge of Excel);
- Excellent interpersonal & communication (written & verbal) skills;
- Thorough understanding of BC, AB, & ON labour laws;
- A focus on accuracy and completeness of reporting & analysis;
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines;
- Strong organizational, time management, & problem solving skills;
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision & in a team environment.

**Education & Expereience**:

- Benefit experience minimum 1 year;
- Minimum 2 years full cycle payroll experience in a high volume environment with union and non-union, hourly payroll;
- Canadian Payroll Association PCP certification, or working toward designation will be considered an asset;
- Experience using ADP Workforce now considered an asset;
- Acceptable security and criminal record check.
