**Carefirst Family Health Team** is a non-profit, primary healthcare clinic that includes a team of family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, dieticians, and other professionals who work together to provide community-centred primary health care services and programs to a diverse community in the Greater Toronto Area.

With two clinics located in Scarborough and Richmond Hill, the Family Health Team is committed to meeting the Ontario government’s strategy to improve access to comprehensive primary health care for Ontarians. Our team collaboratively strives to improve the health of patients and families by providing culturally sensitive and holistic primary and specialized health care services.

**Position Title: Medical Office Assistant**

**Location**: 300 Silver Star Blvd. Scarborough, Ontario

**Terms**: Full Time (35 hours per week); 8 to 16 weeks employment starting in May / June / July 2025

**Wage**: $17.20 / hour

**Department(s)**:

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the reception team with tasks such as greeting patients, scheduling patient appointments, and maintaining payment for services, etc
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the team, including data entry, answering phone inquiries, maintaining filing system, ordering office supplies, managing inventory, compiling data and preparing reports, etc
- Assist with program preparation and support the promotion of DEP activities and events
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment in order to meet Canada Summer Jobs funding requirement
- Graduated from or currently registered student in a post-secondary program preferably in Health Care background
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident (foreign students are not eligible)
- Prior work / volunteer experience in the health care field is preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Customer service-oriented and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Fluent in English, and a second language that reflects the community served such as Cantonese or Mandarin, is an asset
