Primary Responsibilities:
**This position is a 12 month contract hybrid opportunity located at our Mississauga, ON office.**

The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible is to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operation. As with all positions with Tree of Life Canada we expect that all activities will be consistent with Tree of Life Canada’s Mission, Vision and Values.

Essential Functions:

- Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
- Maintain the vendor database and ensure vendors are tax compliant.
- Receive and verify invoices and employee expense reports are in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Prepare and process batches of invoices and employee expense reports for data entry and payment.
- Perform the weekly cheque runs and electronic payments in multiple currencies.
- Maintain payment registers.
- Prepare vendor cheques for mailing.
- Posting of cashed cheques and electronic payments that have cleared the bank.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and respond to vendors / customers.
- Assist with month end closing entries and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
- Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
- Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
- Other duties and special projects as requested.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:

- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience.
- Must be proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills. Knowledge of AS400 is preferred.
- Should have knowledge of accounts payable and general ledger accounts.
- Must maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
- High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with daily activities.
- Strong time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and fluent in English.
