Lead Data Center Technician

**Responsibilities**
- Manage a team of 6 individuals
- Work closely with the Implementation Managers on client installs and migrations
- Work closely with the Data Center Manager for daily operations
- Work with Facilities Lead to maintain training of the data center technician team
- Work closely with Facilities Project Managers to complete site projects
- Physically assisting in moving and racking equipment as directed for special projects
- Update inventory systems as required
- Asset management of received, installed, and removed equipment
- Installation of large, scalable inventories of servers, switches, routers, and storage hardware
- Reception of incoming shipments and tracking server assets through deployment
- Installation of data center equipment and cabling (power, copper, fiber) that supports those devices
- Monitoring and recording vital statistics and produce appropriate reports, including shift and weekly reports
- Recording and maintaining accurate incident and change records and logs, consistent with then-current operating practices and policies
- Responding physically to trouble situations within the local facility and conduct troubleshooting as may be required, until on call personnel can arrive on site and take over
- Conducting routine walkthroughs of local facility, correcting both appearance and functional imperfections
- Chaperoning vendors and guests, or seek chaperones for vendors and guests, as may become necessary, without abandoning front desk responsibilities
- Providing hospitable and enthusiastic assistance to customers and prospects, whether on phone, on electronic communications, or on premises
- Communicating regularly with peer Technicians in other HMS facilities regarding security, operational, and safety/health situations
- Contributing suggestions for improvements in the quality, integrity, and efficiency of operations regularly
- Providing “Remote Hands” assistance, as requested by customers
