Our specialized workforce provides support to customers in class 1 and the short-line railway industry. Our motive power team provides several services for locomotives and on track equipment. We are currently looking for a **Junior Procurement Officer** to join our team

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Purchase materials and services required for sales, internal jobs, and inventory.
- Handle correspondence concerning shipment overages, shortages, and damages.
- Providing support for ongoing projects, this involves lead-time reports and estimated costs for parts procurement.
- Producing and analyzing inventory reports.
- Evaluates vendor proposals to ensure that all requirements are met.
- Maintain the database regarding vendors’ performance and quality of products.
- Establish logistics and deliveries with carriers and vendors.
- Responsible for new production identification and the sourcing of new products.
- Creating purchase orders.
- Able to identify purchasing errors.
- Record Tracking: maintaining files and records database.
- Evaluating and negotiating quotes.
- Participate in annual physical Inventory counts.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Applicable knowledge of negotiating prices, terms, and conditions on materials and services.
- Purchasing experience is an asset.
- Education in business administration, accounting, logistics, supply chain management or related field
- Must be able to create and maintain vendor relations.
- Analyze cost breakdowns.
- Must be able to provide criminal background check.
- Proficiency in relevant management software programs
