We currently have an opportunity for a solid, experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our team.

**What You Will Do**:
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing the Manufacturing Department which includes fabrication, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, factory acceptance testing (FAT) / quality management, packaging and shipping/receiving and warehouse management.

This role is accountable for implementing a manufacturing strategic plan and effectively executing the plan in alignment with departmental objectives and in support of the overall business plan.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Contribute to ongoing strategic planning and budgeting in support of overall business objectives
- Develop and execute the manufacturing strategic plan through strong leadership and effective usage of staff and materials
- Manage according to the guidelines set within company policies and procedures
- Continuously analyze and optimize manufacturing process flow; enhance standardization of processes, work functions and workstations
- Leverage and build upon current processes to continuously improve quality
- Develop, implement and maintain required LEAN manufacturing principles and processes to meet established production schedules and targets
- Produce production reports for presentation at management meetings; meet regularly with management team to review actual to planned production; implement processes to ensure highest quality and attainment of all deliverables
- Play a key role in the development of the capital plan to improve manufacturing operations and manage capital projects from initial scope development to implementation
- Establish direct labor and materials budgets for key subassemblies. Establish production control / supervisory function; labor tracking, job cost monitoring, budget vs. actual (labor hours) analysis and continuous improvement of benchmarks.
- Develop and communicate work schedules for production and assign projects to work cell leads along with facilitating daily progress checks.
- Delegate work clearly and effectively through effective interpersonal and communication skills; hold staff accountable for deliverables
- Review work in process regularly and meet with manufacturing staff to discuss any concerns and to provide coaching, direction, timely problem solving, and escalation as needed.
- Implement methods to promote and encourage ideas and suggestions from staff; create a work environment which fosters growth and creativity from staff
- Take a lead role in plant staffing activities, including interviewing and selection of staff; conduct performance reviews for direct reports and ensure performance reviews are conducted for all manufacturing staff; identify and prioritize staff development opportunities; conduct disciplinary discussions; review staff assignments
- Effectively manage the manufacturing facility, security, and maintenance
- Represent the company in a highly professional manner during interactions with existing or potential customers and vendors
- Support the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee; emphasize health and safety throughout the workplace and all initiatives and activities; follow and enforce all company health and safety policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment

**Required Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, related technical discipline or business, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible manufacturing managerial experience, in a project based custom manufacturing environment, successfully leading groups of approximately 25-50 employees
- Demonstrated track record of success in managing a productive and safe project based custom manufacturing facility
- Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and related processes
- Knowledge and experience working with ISO 9001 standards as it relates to manufacturing quality management through continuous improvement and preventative actions.
- Must be able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization as well as customers and vendors
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong results orientation combined with good judgement and the ability to make sound, reasoned decisions.
- Knowledge of budgeting, data analysis, and capital equipment analysis
- Broad technology-based skills; proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);, MS project, ERP systems, scheduling software
